We invite you to discover this unique concept of agroforestry situated in the West of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), on the 'plateau des Bateke', where an integrated rural development program is developed on three fronts: - environmental: fight against the global warming - economical: development of a sustained and perennial agroforestry - social: increase the well being of the local populations At this website, everybody - Ibi Villagers, partners or surfers - can participate in our experiences, our know-how and our ambitions. Some milestonesTribal inauguration of the Novacel Sud Kwamouth - project (August 2012)On August 10, 2012, Novacel launched officially the project "Novacel Sud Kwamouth" (NSK) in the presence of fifteen tribal chiefs of Baboma South, Baboma Banku and Batéké South, and some hundred villagers of Boku Official registration of the carbon sink by the UNFCCCIbi Bateke, the agroforestry carbon sink with immatriculation n° 4176 has been officilally registered by the UNFCCC on Febraury 2011 as a Clean Development Mechanism. The UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) was signed by 154 states during the summit in Rio in 1994. The Kyoto protocol was signed in 1997 and was ratified by 184 countries. They made a committment to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
